NVC Student Success Cohort Completes NextLevel Mujeres Leadership Program

Leadership development comes to life through experience, reflection, and practice.

The Northwest Vista College Student Success cohort became the first group to complete the NextLevel Mujeres Leadership Essentials Program, marking an important milestone in the continued development of the program and its approach to supporting emerging leaders.

Throughout the program, participants explored leadership, communication, conflict navigation, self-awareness, and accountability. They practiced new skills, reflected on their experiences, and challenged themselves to lead with greater clarity and purpose.

Impact Highlights

• One participant accepted an Academic Director role.

• One participant advanced into an Interim Team Lead position.

• Two participants submitted Letters of Intent for leadership roles.

• Demonstrated growth in confidence, visibility, and leadership readiness across the cohort.

Beyond the individual milestones, the cohort experience also provided valuable insight into how participants engage with leadership development. Their feedback helped identify what resonated, what challenged them, and where future cohorts may benefit from additional opportunities for reflection and practice.

A Foundation for Future Cohorts

As the inaugural cohort to complete the NextLevel Mujeres Leadership Essentials Program, this group helped shape the experience for future participants. Their willingness to engage, reflect, practice new skills, and learn from one another provided valuable insight into what leadership development can look like when it creates space for both growth and reflection.

The experience also reinforced something central to the NextLevel Mujeres approach: leadership development is not simply about learning new skills. It is about creating opportunities to better understand how we lead, how we navigate challenges, and how we show up in our work and relationships.
